August 15, 7:00 pm -- Defend Darfur Dallas: August Movie Night
Join us at the Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education and Tolerance for the film screening of
Sand and Sorrow, an excellent new film narrated by George Clooney about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Darfur region of Sudan. You will have the opportunity to write and record personal messages to send to the people of Darfur. The program is free, and includes guest speakers and Q & A forum. September 23, 9:00 am-4:00 pm --Teacher Workshop: Every Child Has a Name
This workshop will introduce a new curriculum that focuses on the experiences of children in the Holocaust, and will be an exciting and engaging means to have students involved in historical research, creative writing, mapping and other critical skills. Historic background will be presented along with hands-on activities for workshop attendees. This will be offered at the museum, and there is no registration fee. (Co-sponsored by Region 10 ESC, registrations can be made by teachers from any region at http://events.ednet10.net. Workshops are listed by date. Registration will be limited.)


November 16, 2:00 - 5:00 pm -- Book Talk and Mini-Workshop: Cézanne is Missing, with author Frank McMillan. Details TBA.

Teachers participating in the lectures and workshops above can receive CPE's for hours in attendance.
The Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education and Tolerance is a recognized CPE provider by the Texas Education Agency.
