Statement regarding terror attacks in New Zealand

The Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education and Tolerance strongly condemns the terror attacks in Christchurch where at least 49 people were killed in mass shootings at two mosques full of worshipers attending Friday prayers. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with the people of New Zealand and against these vicious and barbaric acts of hate.

We call upon all people around the globe to be “Upstanders” -- and make a commitment to stand up for other people and their rights. We all need to combat injustice, inequality, and unfairness, and when we see something wrong, work to make it right.

The Museum’s mission is to teach the history of the Holocaust, and advance human rights to combat prejudice, hatred, and indifference.
